Due to popular demand, Jewish Culture 101’s most popular subject so far, Mel Brooks, is returning Thursday, November 5 at Noon EDT for “a second look.”
This 75-minute class will use a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT set of clips and discussions than the Mel Brooks 101 class in August. Examples: homosexuality in “The Producers” and “To Be or Not to Be”; the portrayal of Jewish suffering in “History of the World, Part One”; and why many of his later parodies (of the Robin Hood, Dracula, and Star Wars genres) fell short of his early triumphs like Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles. Tuition is $1.
