JUST ADDED: Mel Brooks Musicals
Thursday, December 30: The Producers, Young Frankenstein, and more
Mel Brooks is America's senior funnyman, yes, but he's also a musical theater innovator of the utmost rank. The Broadway Maven will devote the last class of 2021 to the musical comedy career of this nonagenarian funnyman.
In the class we'll look at The Producers; Young Frankenstein; and several other musical projects this comic genius has engineered. Are Nazi jokes funny? Which was better - the movie or the musical or even the movie of the musical? Why did The Producers succeed on Broadway when Young Frankenstein did not?
Quarterly and Yearly ALL-ACCESS Passes are now on sale, with the early bird deadline December 31. Passholders don’t have to sign up or pay for anything, get the Weekly Blast for free, and are invited to Passholder-only classes and watch parties.
